This Student-Led-Conference script has been utilized by my students in both the fifth and sixth grades. Students are given a wonderful opportunity to begin the conference by reflecting on their behaviors in the areas of responsibility, respect, and safety before delving into a self-analysis of how they performed in the five core academic areas (math, science, social studies, reading, and writing). When the quarter ends, I provide the students with the letter grade and percentage. The students then fill in the proper information and reflect on how to maintain or improve that grade. Next, students share what their favorite activity was in that subject area before handing their parents a sample of their work. This script guides the students through the entire process and is a wonderful way to start the conference. This script can be altered to fit your classroom’s subjects or rules. The two pages are available as a free preview. The five pages that come after are the script pages. Enjoy!
