An alternate to traditional parent/teacher conferences is the Student Led Conference. In this format, the teacher sets up an number of table or desk groups that will seat 4 people: the student, the parents, and the teacher. With multiple seating areas, you will be able to conduct multiple parent conferences at the same time.
The key to success in the Student Led Conference is the preparation of students to speak knowledgeably about their progress for their own conference. With the script provided, and assignment sheets or records for each content graded area, students are asked to report and reflect on their progress in academics.
Included in this bundle is a parent survey reflecting on the student led conference experience. This bundle also provides: an overall progress reflection sheet; a conference script for each area: reading, language arts, mathematics, science, social studies, physical education, music, art, media/technology, elective, and content (so you can tailor it to fit your needs); and a student goal sheet master so students can begin to monitor progress in the next quarter.
