What educators are saying
Description
Do you want to have the best Open House night ever? Then you need a Student-Led Open House. This Editable Student-Led Open resource gives you all that you need to let your students lead the way and teach their families all about your classroom.
For Open House, students have a checklist of things to share and show their families: class rules, behavior management plan, student materials, technology, and spotlight (this could be something the student wants to show off or that you have decided to highlight.) This Student-Led Open House resource also includes a family STEM Challenge The STEM Challenge is a really fun way to watch students work together with their families and only requires chenille stems, a timer, and a ruler.
Leading up to Open House night, have students take notes on the Tour Notes page and practice by taking a classmate on a mock tour.
This resource includes everything you need to plan your own Student-Led Open House with instructions PLUS a link to my blog post with even more details. I’ve also created an editable version for you so that you can tweak it to customize it for your own classroom.
Here's what you'll get:
A PDF with:
- A Welcome/Sign-In Sheet
- Open House Tour Notes for students
- STEM Challenge page
- STEM Challenge Results page
- Open House Tour Checklist for students (half-page)
Students will love teaching all about their new classroom and you will love being able to facilitate and chat with families.
Prep is quick and easy... Just print the pdf or easily edit and print the PowerPoint slides.
