Description
Empower the students in your ensembles with a student-led score study experience! Students can dive deep into their own parts or the conductor’s score to learn more about the music. Give students this ownership when learning a new piece of music.
As a Google Slides resource, this is perfect for having students complete individually OR collaboratively! Looking for a printable version? Check out Student-Led Score Study (Google Doc).
Suggestions for Use
- Students can work with their sections or a partner to complete the score study prior to practicing a new piece of music.
- After completing the score study sheet, students can reference their notes frequently during rehearsal. Encourage students to mark their parts as necessary.
- Students can talk with a partner who plays a different instrument, sharing what they learned about their parts. Partners should look for similarities and differences between the instrument parts.
