This is a simple template for a letter of recommendation (LOR) you can fill in and personalize based on your student's particular strengths. This letter is unique in that it includes gender neutral pronouns, if applicable to your student. For those teaching gender studies, women's studies, or for those with students who prefer non he/she pronouns looking to explain this further to the student population and educators they're surrounded by, this letter may also serve as a suitable example for teaching how to use gender neutral pronouns in the workplace according to someone's preference. This could also be used as a springboard for conversation in a queer studies course, as well. Perhaps by asking what would happen if the pronouns were not changed and what may happen as a result. Or, even in a law class on a gender case to offer an example of what may happen in the court of law if pronouns were asked to be adhered to and were not. Some of many ideas! :)
