Do you find yourself constantly helping students locate books on their level while checking out books in the media center? I did! I decided to create some library cards for my students to help them be more independent when looking for appropriate books on their reading levels. Each time they took a test that altered their Lexile Score, I updated the cards. They should print front to back. If you have a printer that will do that in one step great! If not figure out how to refeed into your printer to print on the backs. I suggest printing on card stock before laminating.
I laminated them and just wrote in sharpie over the lamination. My media specialist printed out bar code labels that I stuck onto the front. Our time in the library is so much smoother, calmer, and more efficient now.
*If your media specialist can print labels, it would be best if you stick them on before laminating.*
