Here is a delightful idea I used when I taught the primary grades. It turns out to be a nostalgic idea for open house that blankets your bulletin board and will have parents ogling for a closer look.
The template comes with 12 quilted style squares. Inside each square are titles such as:
My favorite Nursery Rhyme
My Favorite Game
All you have to do is hand each student one sheet of paper and allow parents to help them fill in memories. Parents can mount on construction paper if you like to add a colored effect. Then just staple side by side upon your large bulletin board. The end result will be a giant "family" quilt that includes each member of your class.
What a great bonding and tolerance activity that allows each member of the class a window into everyone's favorites! Do be sure to have students share before your quilt is placed.
