Product Description
Helping to create a school environment of caring and community. Rationale- Improve attendance, self-esteem, and support primary (K-4) students.
Goal- 6th and 7th graders will serve as student mentors for students with attendance issues, social difficulties, and a history of being bullied. The role of mentor will be to listen, support, and report major concerns. Mentors are recommended by previous and current teachers based on the student being respectful, responsible, and a leader. Mentees will be chosen by the teachers, principals, or counselors. Older students who seem to be loners or have few friends may also be chosen to help the mentor develop confidence and self-esteem.
