Summative project originally designed to conclude a unit in identity and definition.
Students create a four-stage naming cycle for themselves, based on different naming traditions manifested in a variety of Native American cultures. Students investigate what names mean, who they are as individuals, and how they want to be perceived by others. Rubric allows students to successfully complete project with a wide range of products (presentation, essay, narrative, film, etc.). Easily adaptable to different grade levels.
