Colorful Student Performance Indicator Card Set in child-friendly terminology. This zipped file is in MS Word format with 4 cards per page and approximately 8 SPIs per grade level for the 4 units in the year. The Word format enables you to use as a template to make your own. This file is for folks who are familiar with the editing process in MS Word—line spacing and font size which changes a lot throughout the document in order for the SPIs to fit. Any editing/changes you make may cause problems with the formatting. There is also a set of these cards available in PDF format if you are not comfortable editing.
These match the standards covered in the Music Class Lesson Plans for a Year. Dimensions: 5.5" x 4.25"
These SPIs also can be displayed with the Standards Poster Set, available for download at Teachers Pay Teachers. Instructions for use included.
Many music teachers are required to post the standards and SPIs in kid friendly terminology. The design of these cards is a result of that mandate. Using these cards that coordinate with the standards-based lesson plans has been very impressive during the teacher evaluation process.
The cards are color-coded to match the colors of the music vocabulary cards and rhythm cards, also available at TPT. Students are able to quickly find their grade level words and SPIs. Teachers have posted these around the room, on the front white board, the door, etc. and use line-up time or the beginning of class to reinforce the students’ learning experiences in class. The cards are to be posted at the beginning of each unit. Some teachers use stickers/arrows to indicate which SPIs are being covered during a lesson.
