Here's a fun way to give your students a visual of their book reading progress with a reading log chain!
Simply print off onto your own card stock (colored recommended) and trim along dotted line using a paper cutter. Store strips or distribute to each student depending on your organizational preference. When your student has completed reading a book, he/she simply takes a strip, completes the information prompts, and then adds the strip to his/her link. Progress is easily seen and even helps to motivate when he/she sees the progress of other students as the school year progresses. Each strip prompts include: Book Title, Book's Author, Date, whether or not the student would recommend the book, Student's Name, and a spot to write a running total of books read making it easy for you both to keep track.
