Student self assessment is an invaluable tool to encourage students to take control of their own learning and understand areas for further development. The comments they write are also valuable for teachers when it comes to assessment and preparation for future learning.
I have bundles of these cards printed and ready for students to complete after certain activities. I don’t use these as reflection for all activities as there are many other ways for students to reflect other than in strict written form.
I also give each student an evaluation sheet (the final page) at the beginning of term, as they are expected to record one activity each week. This then becomes a record and overview of their learning for the entire term.
