# Student Self-Assessments for 4th Grade Math (Mathematical Mindsets)

Product Description
The latest research from John Hattie's Visible Learning and Jo Boaler's Mathematical Mindsets both found that students self-reporting on progress is one of the top strategies to implement for encouraging student growth. These checklists and tasks are designed as a framework to allow your 3rd grade students to do that. They also allow the teacher to see quickly which concepts students have mastered and determine which ideas need further practice. This comprehensive resource includes 16 assessment checklists and 16 task pages aligned with 4th grade common core standards and Texas Standards. The tasks are easy to understand and require very little teacher prep-just print (or share digitally) and allow students access to classroom manipulatives (printable manipulatives are included as well). The kid-friendly assessment checklists are easy for students to read and determine their progress by choosing one of 3 options: I can do it by myself and explain it; I can do it by myself; I am still learning and use examples to help me. The checklists are the size of a half-page, so I have my students glue the checklists right into their math composition book journals and show all their thinking on the following pages making it is easy for students to revisit past tasks and update progress. This also makes it easy to share the progress and work examples with parents.
