This guide was revised in August of 2016. The font is now bigger -- and each section begins on a new page.
This is a literature study guide for the book titled The Hobbit, by J. R. R. Tolkien. The guide is designed for 6th-9th grade students. Each section contains vocabulary exercises, questions for discussion, literature analysis, and life application/Bible connections. Extension activities and Tolkien Trivia are included. An Answer Key is provided.
This interactive guide enables parents/teachers to facilitate an oral discussion of this book, but it only provides space for one student to complete fill-in-the-blank activities. If you are interested in using the guide with more than one student, check out the following options:
1) Reproducible sheets are available from TeachersPayTeachers:
Study Guide: The Hobbit Reproducibles
The sheets contain all of the fill-in-the blank activities found in the study guide; when you purchase one set of reproducible sheets, you have permission to make a copy for each of your students.
2) The guide is available in workbook format:
Study Guide: The Hobbit Workbook
Space is provided for students to write the answers to the questions and to complete the activities. If you purchase the guide in workbook format, you do not need the reproducibles -- all of the fill-in-the-blank activities are in the workbook.
The content of the Interactive guide and the Workbook guide are the same; the only difference is in the spacing.
