My students often struggle with the concept of time management when it comes to studying. I created this document to help them sort through their overstimulated brain and make the most of their study hall hours.
Students first make a list of all their to-do's currently active in their mind, including non-academic, in order to address their inhibitions about getting started and staying focused on a single task at hand.
Then they calendar any important events if necessary, addressing the brain chatter, and then they prioritize a subject or task to study based on a due date, order of importance or skill level.
Then we set the timer and go! I check off their tasks at the end of the study session. They usually complete 2 and then complete the rest on their own.
