Are you looking for a product to help your students better study and do research? Then this worksheet might be what you need! The first page presents the definitions of 13 Research and Study Tools, which are: appendix, bibliography (or works cited page), critique, footnotes, glossary, headings, index, notes, outline, paraphrasing, quotes, summary, and table of contents.
The second page is a quiz of 11 questions about the definitions provided on the first page. First, students answer 8 True/False questions about the meanings of the study/research tools that were listed. The True/False questions are written in a way to require analysis, and in a way for you to easily assess students’ knowledge of the definitions. The last 3 are application questions, which have your students choose and then put a check mark by the study or research tool (among 3 choices listed) that would be best to use for each given purpose.
This worksheet will work well as a practice activity, as an exam, quiz, or other assessment, as homework, or in a literacy center.
