Objective: The goal of this game is to give students test taking strategies, study skills strategies, goal setting ideas, and calming strategies that can be used within the classroom and at home. If a child seems to shut down during assessments, this is a fun game for him/her. Many times students struggle to persevere through the many assessments schools now give. To help them be more successful, students need to know test taking strategies, how to better study at home (test preparation), calming strategies to use during test taking frustration, and how to set long term and short term goals. Therefore, this game touches all four of those areas. The students should walk away with a paper/form filled with strategies. I have used this game in individual counseling sessions, small group counseling sessions, and in classroom guidance by printing multiple copies and dividing students into small groups.
