A basic introduction to history!
This is the first lesson I teach with my students. It includes introductory information on why we study history, primary vs. secondary sources, timelines, and researching history.
This file includes a word file with student and teacher copies of the notes, and the PowerPoint presentation that I use with these notes. Student notes include blanks that students fill in as you go through the presentation.
These notes can be done all in one class period, or broken into sections (for example: you may show the small section on primary vs. secondary sources and then do an activity, and then continue the notes the next day).
