Our "Stunning Story Elements Posters" are great classroom resources when teaching and/or reviewing characters, setting, and events, in addition to retelling a story. There is a single-page size and also a two-page by two-page size for the characters, setting, and event posters to choose between. The retelling poster is included in a single-page size plus a two-page by four-page larger poster size. We like to post these resources near our whole group area or even in different classroom learning centers for students to utilize often. As an added bonus, we have also created a list of general comprehension questions to ask students when focusing on characters, setting, or events in a story and these lists have been made into bookmarks for easy access.

Our “Stunning Story Elements Posters” will help address the following Common Core standards for kindergarten, first, and second grade:
Kindergarten - RL.K.1, RL.K.2, RL.K.3
Grade 1 - RL.1.1, RL.1.2, RL.1.3, RL.1.7
Grade 2 - RL.2.1, RL.2.2, RL.2.3, RL.2.5, RL.2.6, RL.2.7

If you’re looking for additional resources for reading comprehension, please also check out our “Comprehension Cube for Rockin’ Readers!” Our students love to roll the cube and answer questions about stories read in whole group and small group lessons, which builds their reading and listening comprehension, language development, turn taking, and much more!
