Day 3 – Sphinx poem – Carl Sandburg poetry analysis (part of my Carl Sandburg Poetry unit)
Day 4 – Research Sphinx – includes some research graphic organizers
Day 5 – Crocodile poem – Lewis Carroll poetry analysis
Writing: 5 days
Day 1 – Owl stories & poetry
Day 2 – Finish owl writing and craftivity – just need paper plates, construction paper, markers, scissors, and glue sticks
Day 3 – Story Starter Picture Prompts (sold separately as “Writing Prompt Pictures set 2”)
Day 4 – Story Starter Picture Prompts
Day 5 - Free writing day – students can work on owl writing ideas, more story prompts, or more research about the Sphinx.
Math: 5 days
Day 1 – Place Value color by number (part of my Color By Number pages for intermediate grades)
Day 2 – Build a Number caterpillar (sold separately) - students just need crayons, scissors and glue sticks
Day 3 – Place Value Task Cards (sold separately)
Day 4 – Place Value Bingo – whole numbers (sold separately) – just need something to cover spaces – counters, glass floral beads from the dollar store, etc…
Day 5 – Flex day – students can play the above games with partners/small groups or finish working through the task cards.
