A day's worth of sub plans all you need to do is print, copy, and provide at least one fiction and nonfiction book about Polar Animals!
These sub plans will have your students learning and having fun all day with polar animals and the substitute teacher! Or use the packet to supplement your own teaching during a unit about polar animals!
Supplement this packet of activities with at least one fiction book with the main character as a polar animal and one nonfiction book about polar animals. The more books the better, but not needed.
The substitute teacher will start the day with the morning work and then start reading either fiction or nonfiction books about polar animals. The students will then complete the corresponding activities. The polar animal activities and fun will continue all day!
The following activities are included in this packet:
*Morning work- to start the day for the students with what they know and want to know about polar animals
*Story maps- two different leveled maps are included to be completed with the fiction book
*Polar Animal Compare and Contrast- students will compare and contrast two polar animals or characters from the fiction book with a Venn Diagram
*If I lived in the Arctic writing- a fiction writing activity that includes a book cover to assemble all student pages into a class book
*All About Polar Animals: Our Facts writing- a nonfiction writing activity that includes a book cover to assemble all student pages into a class book for later reference
