Find it, Tally & Graph - Spring: Using the spring insect collage, students will tally the number of bugs, record their results and graph them. Next, they must answer a series of addition and subtraction equations using their totals.
Make Your Own! Students will cut and paste pictures of insects to make their own addition and subtraction equations using the data they gather in the “Find it, Tally & Graph” activity.
_________ Tells the Time!: Students will create their own daily schedule book while writing analogue time.
Math Journal Prompts: Students will complete a series of math word problems.
My Super Bug!: Students will create their own bug and complete a fun poster telling all about it. This activity includes an opportunity to survey the rest of the “bugs” in the class to see which ones can fly and which ones can’t!
My Animal Research Project: Students will choose any book on animals in the classroom and will create a poster telling all about it using the template provided.
My Favorite Character: Students will choose their favorite character from any book in the classroom and will create a poster telling all about it using the template provided.
My Favorite Book: Students will choose their favorite book from the classroom library and will create a poster telling all about it using the template provided.
Symmetry is Beautiful Poem & Activity: Students will read the original poem about symmetry and will then complete a shared symmetry activity with a partner.
Flower Power & Dino World Sight Word Bingo: This activity includes sight word cards and is led by the teacher.
Read & Draw: Students will choose a set of drawing directions that they must follow. This activity is followed by a whole group sharing.
Fairy Tale Map! Students will listen to a read aloud of a commonly known fairy tale. After a group brainstorming session, students will create their own fairy tale map based on the travels of the characters in the book.
A Letter to my Teacher: Students will write a letter to the teacher using the prompts and template provided.
