If you are going to be gone and simply do not have the time or energy to come up with sub plans, look no further - these sub plans are ready to print and use right now! You can even email them to your school and all your sub will have to do is make a few copies from this packet and track down the book either in your classroom, from a teammate, from the school library or even just pull it up on Youtube. How easy is that?! Your kids will have engaging, common core aligned activities to do that go along with a classic story that they already love or will love after they hear it today. There are many hours worth of activities included. Chances are, your sub will be able to pick and choose which activities they want to do or have time to do. You will love the check list at the end of the packet where your wonderful sub can simply check "done!" next to the things that they completed. When you come flying back into school the next morning and start to panic about what in the world you are going to teach, just peak at the checklist and pick up where the sub left off. Hopefully this will be helpful to you esspecially if you are recovering from an illness. Included in this packet: questions for the sub to use after reading the story, two options of handwriting practice (both D'Nealian and Zaner-Bloser), a math buddy game, singular and plural practice, a word search, two skip counting pages (one counting by 2's starting from various numbers and one counting by 5's and 10's, a simple adding page, a number stories adding page with helpful counting graphics, sequencing different events in the story using picture cues so even non-readers can work independently, a class book ordering the days of the week, and a checklist for the sub. This might be a great idea just to have on hand incase an emergency comes up and you can't make it in!
