Pg. 4 Table of Contents and directions for your sub tub – It would be helpful for you to make an example of each project for the sub to look at - include your picture books for her to use in the tub (the picture books will be used for the story structure and the cause and effect papers). Also, fill out your lesson plans and have them in a folder ready to go in the front of your tub.
Pg. 5-12 What I think My Teacher is Doing Today … - copy off the appropriate style writing paper – there are 3 choices – copy off the photograph paper either in color or in black and white – attach the papers to a large piece of construction paper as seen in the example
Pg. 13-17 Cause and Effect – the sub will use this to go along with a book you have in your tub – there are two choices of papers – one for drawing and one for writing depending on your students’ abilities
Pg. 18-19 Sequence of Events – this will be added to the story structure project – copy pages A and B back to back – fold the paper and cut on the dotted lines – lift each flap to write and illustrate – put the story in sequential order – glue to large construction paper
Pg. 20 Character Pocket – this will be added to the story structure project – cut out and glue the pocket in place – glue only the sides and bottom to form the pocket, fill out the character cards and place them in the pocket – glue to large construction paper
Pg. 21 Setting Doors – cut the doors in half, glue the sides so that they open up and color the setting – glue to large construction paper
Pg. 22-23 Plot Square and Story Structure Label – cut out the plot box and fill out the problem and the solution – cut out the larger plot square, glue your writing in the middle and fold down the flaps – attach to large construction paper with the Story Structure Label glued on top

Pg. 25-27 Equation Fun – copy pages A and B back to back -fold the book in half -write a math story, draw a picture, number line, ten frame etc. to go with your story, and write a matching equation.
Pg. 28 Roll an Equation - roll two dice, add them, subtract them, or multiply them – write an equation to match.
Pg. 29-31 Spelling: Spelling Art / Roll and Spell – roll the dice to see what color to write your spelling word with or what writing tool to use to write your word
Pg. 32-36 Visualize - : Read the poem to the students and have them draw what they visualize.
