Subitizing Five Frames
Subitizing is being able to quickly recognize the number of items without counting.
This PowerPoint has five days of practice that can be used weekly without worrying they will memorize the order. Students look at the five frame and call out the number of circles they see before the frame disappears. Just click on Day 1- 5 and the days practice will run and you can have a moment to breathe while they practice an essential skill. Subtizing sets a strong foundation in the understanding of numbers. The five frames here represent every possible pattern (not just the simple left to right versions.)
