What is subitizing?
Subitizing is “the ability to recognize a collection of objects as a single unit” (Parrish, 2010).
Tired of using flash cards to practice the skill of subitizing? Or maybe you’re just figuring out what subitize means. Get your students active while they learn.
Check out the preview for a sample of a fun way to practice subitizing.
Students will see a representation of a number (i.e. ten frame, fingers, counters, pennies, tally marks, etc.) and say the number automatically without counting. When an exercise slide appears they will complete the exercise until the slide changes.
