Product Description
Subitizing cards allow students to practice instantly recognizing the quantity of items in a structured arrangement. This self-checking resource includes a variety of examples of structured arrangements, including:
- Fingers
- Dice Patterns
- Ten Frames
- Clip Art pictures arranged in dot patterns

Directions:

- Laminate and cut out the cards.
- Fold the cards over on the dotted lines so the flaps are covering the written numbers.
- Ask students what quantity they see. Students can write the number using a dry erase number on the back of the flap.
- Students can then open the flap to self-check.

This activity aligns to Texas TEKS K.2(C), K.2(D), and 1.2(A)

K.2 Number and operations. The student applies mathematical process standards to understand how to represent and compare whole numbers, the relative position and magnitude of whole numbers, and relationships within the numeration system. The student is expected to:
(C) count a set of objects up to at least 20 and demonstrate that the last number said tells the number of objects in the set regardless of their arrangement or order;
(D) recognize instantly the quantity of a small group of objects in organized and random arrangements;

1.2 Number and operations. The student applies mathematical process standards to represent and compare whole numbers, the relative position and magnitude of whole numbers, and relationships within the numeration system related to place value. The student is expected to:
(A) recognize instantly the quantity of structured arrangements;
