Subitizing with Thematic Dot Cards and Ten Frames: Dinosaurs
Subitizing is the ability to instantly identify a number of objects. These dinosaur themed subitizing cards will engage students and help them build number sense.

This set of dinosaur themed dot cards and ten frames are designed to help students develop a stronger number sense through subitizing. It is appropriate for preschool, kindergarten, homeschool, and special education instruction.

You can use thematic dot cards and ten frames to engage the students in the process of subitizing. It allows them to practice the skills, with a new and fun set of cards.

Here is how I use these cards:
They can be used as part of a warm-up, a mini lesson, as a partner game, you can also use them during any spare time that you have during the day.
Flash the cards quickly and have students identify the number of fall objects that they saw. They can say the number verbally or draw it on the extension worksheets.
Flash the cards quickly and have students describe the number of objects that they saw (I saw 4 dinosaurs) and how they figured it out. They can describe it verbally (I saw 2 dinosaurs on the top and 2 dinosaurs on the bottom.) You can also use the extension worksheets for students to record their findings.

This pack includes:
Dinosaur “Dot Cards” 0-10– Pictures are all one type. (pg. 6-11)
Dinosaur “Dot Cards” 0-10– Pictures are separated into two groups, two/three different types of fall objects. Aids the eyes in distinguishing patterns. (pg. 12-19)
Ten Frames with Dinosaur Objects– In standard form. (pg.20-23)
Ten Frames with Dinosaur Objects– In irregular patterns. (pg.24-29)
Blank Ten Frames– You can add your own stickers. (pg.30)
Recording Sheets (pg. 31-35)
