Double Dice Flash! (Numbers through 12)
Visual representations of numbers are powerful ways to help students’ recognize the quantity of small groups of objects without counting them (subitize). Subitizing is an important foundational skill that prepares children for success in all future mathematics learning!
The “Double Dice Flash!”
packet includes 8½” X 11” double dice pattern cards (2 sets from which to choose: black/white and teal), as well as strategies for implementation and sample questions to use with the students to develop a solid base for learning number and determining level of understanding. I STRONGLY recommend first using my Freebie “Dice Flash!”
if you have not yet introduced Dice Patterns to your students. This game is meant to be fast paced and quick so have the cards ready to use whenever you have little time slots (like lining up and waiting!). Students enjoy sharing their thinking about what they see and how they figured it out! Ideas for questioning strategies are included!
