Subitizing Number Game - Dog and Bones - Math Center
This is a printable card game/math center that helps teach subitizing (ability to recognize dot patterns) and also numeral identification.
It is bright, colourful and loads of fun.
Each of the 6 game board depicts a very cute puppy friend that needs to find a dot-pattern-bone to match the numerals on his board.
Your students will love helping their puppy friend cover his game board, and learn to count dot patterns and numbers along the way!
This file features a teaching tips page, a detailed instruction sheet, six game boards, dot 'bone' cards, a worksheet and cover page. Print as many copies as you have players.
** Please Note ** - Subitizing can be taught with both 'standard' and non-standard or 'random' arrangements. This game has been expertly designed to bridge the gap between standard and random. Students will see the dots in a line on each bone card, to help them move away from standard dot patterns and move to more 'random' arrangements of dots.
