These number sets & drill pages are to build mastery. After a few times using the number recognition cards to develop familiarity use these drill sets. My students love the time challenge to see how many they can complete . I start at 5 - 6 minutes and after a few days decrease the time.
Great for differentiated instruction to help students build number recognition skills. Each card set is 1-10 and 1 – 20 and available as:
• Ten Frames
• Counting on Fingers
• Counting Set
• Ten Rods
• Counting Sticks
• Unifix Cubes
• Dice 1
• Dice 2
Several ways to play. At the beginning of the year I copy each set on a different color cardstock. Later in the year to challenge them copy them on the same color.
SORT: Use the heading cards from the 1-10 sets. Shuffle 2-3 sets together. Draw from the pole and sort to the correct heading
MATCHING: Students can play 2 -4 sets at a time to match values
Hi-CARD (War): 2 Students each with a set of cards, (same or different version). Shuffle cards. Draw and compare. Student with highest number gets to keep the cards drawn. In the case of same number draw again and the winner of that keeps all 4 cards. Winner has the most cards at the end.
