ZOOM through numbers 0 to 20 and build number sense by developing subitizing skills. Subitizing is an essential math concept that can boost student achievement in counting on, composing and decomposing numbers, place value, and more! Essentially, we are practicing to "see" organized groups of numbers. Students practice reading whole numbers up to 20 using dice, dominoes, ten frames, tally marks, and numerals.

This resource is best used to as a quick practice when first meeting with guided math or small groups. It can also be used during math centers (math stations), tutoring, intervention, or for early finishers. This is a good challenge activity for pre-K students with deep number sense, just right for kindergarten and first grade students, or an intervention for second grade students.

This resource will keep you afloat because…

☑ this focuses on the subitizing progressions that are natural for children to learn and builds on students' strengths by using small number groups of each set of cards.

☑ there is a progress monitoring component that can be used for RtI and keep practice differentiated for ALL students in your classroom, especially those who are struggling.

☑ student tracking pages are included that follow a racing theme to boost student engagement and accountability!
