What educators are saying

This was very useful and my students loved them. I added a few slides daily on my math ppt and it really helped my students master this skill
As a grade 3/4 teacher, I always find that subitizing is one of the gaps our young learners have in math. Thank you for creating a resource full of visuals that can be used in so many ways.

Description

Strengthen your students’ subitizing skills with this engaging subitizing PowerPoint. This resource includes 325 quick images that you can project on your screen for whole class instruction or print out for math centers. The images include: Ten Frames, Dominoes, Fingers, Dice, Large Dots, Rekenreks, Dots on Balloons, Bear Counters, and Tally Marks.

How I use this in my classroom

I’ve been practicing subitizing with my little ones for the last three years but got tired of making quick images on paper plates or construction paper. They always ripped or got lost. This PowerPoint simplified teaching subitizing. You can also print the images if you want. If you are using this resource for math centers, you can print two or three to a page.

When I use them as part of Number Talks, I usually CUT the images (slides) that I want for that session and PASTE at the top of the presentation so I can have them all easily accessible in the order I need them in as I teach. I don’t want to have to scroll through 300+ slides! If you want them back in original order, simply redownload again from My Purchases.

Subitizing is part of the K Common Core Standards: K.CC.A.1, K.CC.A.2,K.CC.A.4,K.CC.A.5

NOTE: Although PowerPoint format, the actual slides cannot be edited. Also, there are no timings on these for various reasons. However, you can add them if it works for you.
