Fill in the Blanks (Cloze) while learning subject/predicate and initial blends.
PHONICS: CVC and Initial Blends
These lessons are designed to give students time to develop decoding skills while strengthening letter/sound relationships. Keeping the sounds predictable and decodable at this stage in a student’s phonics instruction will help build confidence, and avoid the confusion associated with irregular sounds and letter patterns.
(Note: Subsequent lessons will introduce ending blends, double consonant blends, irregular and long vowel sounds, and sight words. Click "Follow" above for automatic new product notification from TpT.)
INSTRUCTIONS (Cloze Sentences)
Print lessons on one side and the writing template on the reverse side. Cut in half on the dotted line to make two sets.
*Great for early finishers, centers, and homework review.*
Use the templates (included) to make two cubes (subject/predicate). Students roll the cubes to make a sentence, then draw and write the subject and predicate.
