Are your kids tired of worksheets? These two games are a fun way to reinforce subjects and predicates, without the routine drill of pencil and paper activities.
Game one is a board game in which students must determine the subject or predicate of a sentence. Game two is a Go Fish style game in which students must match subjects to predicates.
Also included in the download are three posters explaining subjects and predicates and a 9 question quiz.
Both color and black and white versions are included. Perfect for centers, small group extra support, or use as a whole class. Answer keys are included. Just print and cut and your students will be ready to have some subject/predicate fun.
This unit does not specifically correlate with Common Core Standards, however it is supportive of these:
CCSS.ELA-Literacy.L.3 and 4 Demonstrate command of the conventions of standard English grammar and usage when writing or speaking.
CCSS.ELA-Literacy.L.3.1a Explain the function of nouns, pronouns, verbs, adjectives, and adverbs in general and their functions in particular sentences.
CCSS.ELA-Literacy.L.4.1f Produce complete sentences, recognizing and correcting inappropriate fragments and run-ons.
