Play just like Slapjack. Playing cards contain complete sentences, fragments, or phrases. Evenly distribute cards among players. They flip them over one player after the other looking for the jack. The complete sentence cards are the jack. Students play in pairs, or groups, trying to spot the complete sentence. Whoever slaps the jack first, keeps the jack and any cards underneath it. Students are eliminated when they run out of cards. The student who ends up with all the cards win. This is a great activity for subject predicate instruction.
