Subject Pronouns Reading Booklet and Worksheet-An Original by ESL Fun Class
The reading booklet and worksheet has a cover page with the setting and characters and is filled with colorful photos and storylines. It has two worksheets. One has four spaces for students to draw pictures and lines underneath for them to write their own short stories. The second worksheet has a 5 picture to define and 10 comprehension questions. The directions and an answer key are on the final page.
You can print all the file pages or just the worksheet. To save on printing costs, I suggest you only print the worksheets. You can project the cover page and the booklet if you wish.
Have students read the story, for the first time, out loud as a group, without the worksheets, instructing students to jot down any words they don’t recognize. When students finish reading, answer any questions they have about what they wrote down.
Next, hand out the worksheets. You can choose to hand out or display the booklet, depending on whether you want your students to answer the questions from memory, or with some help.
Have students answer all of the questions, then either read the story out loud again. Students can check their work and make any corrections necessary.
When finished, the teacher can read the correct answers so students can make any final corrections to their work.
Read the booklet one last time so the students can read and listen with the correct understanding.
Last, the students can draw their pictures and write their stories in class or send it home for homework.
Notes and Tips:
The matching worksheet, video, conversation, comic book, and PowerPoint can be purchased separately or as a bundle.
Be sure to download the preview and zoom in on it to see what you will be getting before you buy it.
You can upload the file to your platform for homework. Make sure your students both have and know how to use a PDF editing program or convert the document into a Google Doc, make boxes for the fill in the blank lines, and then share it with them.
The booklets are great to fill in extra time or to give to substitute teachers.
We use many of the same target words and phrases on all of the resources created for one topic. This is done intentionally to reinforce the basic vocabulary and grammar structures for each topic. Therefore, you can use our worksheets, board and card games, exams and other PowerPoint games and presentations as complementary activities for this video worksheet set.
