Who was this resource created for?
I created this resource for middle school students with moderate disabilities learning about basic sentence structure. The students who were able to access this resource were diagnosed with Intellectual Disabilities such as Down’s Syndrome, other students with Speech and Language Impairments, ADHD, and Autism. We had already learned about the parts of the sentence using Framing Your Thoughts before I created this resource. I quickly realized that my students needed more practice and repetition of the subject-verb agreement rule. This resource is meant to be repetitive. It also breaks the subject-verb agreement rule into parts and move slowly for learners who need more processing time.
What does this resource include?
-4-page lesson guide for 7 lesson sessions
-6 Student reference cards and rule posters
-Subject and Predicate Word banks
-7 different worksheets
-Task folder/box activity
-20 Edit-the-Sentence Worksheets
-Editing Checklist, poster version and student version
-Slideshow for presenting posters
