This product is a set of self-checking English conventions cards. Students read a sentence or phrase. Then they determine if this is a complete sentence or is missing a subject or predicate. Finally, they flip over the card to check their answer.
This set is based on the Common Core State Standards (CCSS) for 4th grade Language. It specifically addresses CCSS.ELA-LITERACY.L.4.1.F "Produce complete sentences, recognizing and correcting inappropriate fragments and run-ons." Students must identify which part of the sentence (subject or predicate) is missing or that the sentence is complete.
Great for independent centers or practice at home! This product can help differentiate instruction, especially if combined with other poke card activities available in my store.
This set contains 40 self-checking cards as well as 4 blank cards for adding your own additional sentences. Blank cards are great for extension, too! Have your students create new cards after they have demonstrated mastery of the practice cards.
