Use this activity to help students identify subjects and predicates. This activity can be done as a small group or even as an independent activity. To be done as a small group, cut the cards and laminate for durability. If you would rather students complete this independently, allow students to cut cards themselves and glue onto a sheet of construction paper with one half labeled subject and the other half labeled predicate. Students will identify each sentence part as either a subject or a predicate. Encourage students to recognize the simple subject or simple predicate. Challenge students to match the subject with its corresponding predicate in order to create complete sentences. Have fun with this hands-on grammar activity!
