Five page worksheet! A "writer in need of help" asks your students to help them write a sentence. The student is guided through writing a sentence with a subject, adjective, predicate, and verb.
Students are asked to pick a subject: A pirate, a dog, a prince/princess, or a subject of their choice. They then pick adjectives and verbs from word clouds (or of their own making) and put them together to help them complete a sentence.
The subject, adjective, and predicate is each given its own page with an explanation. It is very guided. Colors and shapes are tied to each part of speech to help students see connections more easily. At the end, there is a practice worksheet where the student is challenged to come up with ten sentences on their own, putting a box around the subject and underlining the predicate. Students are also challenged to come up with five sentences with an object as the subject.
This is a relatively simple introduction to subjects and predicates. However, there is lots of room for creativity and I've tried to make the subjects, adjectives, and verbs all exciting and fun.
The page breakdown is:
1. Cover Image
2. Note to Teacher
3. The Subject
4. The Adjective
5. The Predicate/Verb
6. Pulling it all together
7. Worksheet/Extra Practice
