This is a fun PPT that opens students eyes - they get to watch an ice cube sublimate in seconds.
This PPT took me about 2 or 3 months to complete, and it can be yours in seconds! Students often read about sublimation, and know of it only due to working with or seeing videos of dry ice - so this PPT shows students that they see sublimation more than they think!
I like to ask the kids what the white stuff is coming off the ice cube before it disappears (it's tap water additives such as chloramines, etc!)
Drive home the water cycle with this fun and quick demonstration in your classroom!
Teaching duration for this would be less than 30 minutes, I'd say maybe 5 or 8 minutes, but it's the best to see their reactions.
