Subordinating Conjunctions Task Card Activities/CCSS Aligned Grade 5

These three activities are designed to reinforce and review Subordinating Conjunctions and how they are used in Subordinate Clauses and Complex Sentences.

“Find the Best Subordinating Conjunction” requires students to select the best SC for the 24 Complex Sentence task cards.

“Subordinating Conjunctions + More” Sorting activity with 24 cards provides practice in identifying SCs, Subordinate Clauses, Independent Clauses, and Complex Sentences.

For the third activity, “Add an Independent Clause”, students must write Independent Clauses to complement the Subordinate Clauses on the 30 task cards to create Complex Sentences.

Both color and black/white sets of task cards are provided.
