Hate getting things ready for a sub? I sure do. I would rather be at school than get things ready for a sub. But, sometimes you just have to be out, so being prepared is so much easier. If you get this folder ready at the start of the school year, you will be so glad you did. Every time I return back to school my sub leaves me a note saying how much she appreciated this folder.
All you have to do is open it in word and type everything you need.
Here is what is included:
*Cover Sheet- Just add your name and grade level
*Welcome letter to the sub
*Daily Schedule-Type in your personal schedule (I like to include library and computer time and date on this page.)
*Class Roster- Type in your student names
*attendance sheet- The sub just fills in your name, date, and who is absent and sends it to the office
*Daily Sub Plan Template- Fill this out when you know you will be out and stick it in the folder
*emergency plans- This page I type generic plans for each subject. If I know I am going to be out, then I insert my real lessons over this page, which is the page before this one.)
*Important Information- On this page I explain when and how we do bathroom breaks, switching classes, recess procedures, what students you can ask to help run errands or who will tell you the truth, who is a bus rider, and end of the day procedures.
*Teachers-This page I list the teachers who are in the hall that you can ask for an assistance from.
*Note- The sub fills this out at the end of the day letting you know what was or wasn't completed. They also let you know good and bad news.
