How can you help your students have a successful day when you are out and they have a sub? Plan ahead and give that substitute all the information she/he will need to take your place that day.
In this Editable Substitute Survival Kit, you will find everything you need to help your substitutes understand how you run your classroom. All your important information will be organized in an easy to use binder or folder.
Since every school and classroom has different rules and procedures, I have made it very easy to edit and change the text on the pages to fit your classroom. Some headings on the pages are not editable, but all specific school content is. I have included a blank page which you can add any text box or heading you wish to work for your class.
Just fill out the needed information, save the PowerPoint document for later adjustments and modifications, and print. Once you have printed, place the cover sheet in the front of a 3 ring binder or pocket folder and add the sheets. Sheets can either be hole punched or placed in plastic sleeves.
You can add the binder to your Sub Tub if you have one. A sub tub is used to hold any materials for the activities/lessons that you plan on having your sub do with your students. It can also be used to keep general items and activities that would be helpful in case of an unplanned absence. If you want to create a Sub Tub, I have included ideas and a label for you to get started. I also included information on making a small hospitality kit or box (Sub Survival Box) which makes a sub’s day in your class a little more enjoyable.
