“Substitution and Evaluation” is a unit of work taken from the bundle, “Algebraic Techniques”. It has the same game to play, “3 Stations”, and the same questions and answers.
Students play “3 Stations” outside, in the gym, or any space where running is appropriate. It requires 3 teams to run in relays to stations which each exhibit a table of values with an algebraic rule. They must complete the table of values at each station and be first to return home.
The result? - Healthy students who have moved for a lesson AND practised their substitution skills.
