They are a great introduction to science units on animals, non fiction story starters, the possibilities are endless because Kids LOVE animals and drawing animals and everything about animals.

Animals are the easiest subject to have your students begin learning the process of writing. They gain a sense of confidence when learning to write if you give the a topic they have background knowlege of.

Simply stated: Write what you know---- Kids know animals and are excited to write about them--- that is the first step in developing the love of writing in a child and them becoming great writers.

We use these for morning work, center time, small group instruction, when we have a sub, end of the day down time before they go home, and homework.

For our RtI kiddos, we partner pair them to work together so they receive a sense of accomplishment and success.

Great Review for second and third graders in the beginning of the year. Can just also be used as a story starter for any grade.

Love, Have Fun, Create and Doodle!
