Subtracting Decimals - Add to Check
Background on Product
We gave our 90 students a CFA (common formative assessment). We then put the data from the assessment into excel. We sorted for subtraction. We have Title and Special Ed support and are able to divide our students 5 ways to provide 30 minute intensive strategic instruction. The students that scored 0 or 20% are placed in the smallest groups. These practice papers are for students who scored 60% or less. Students who scored 100% are placed in the largest group and are provided enrichment opportunities.
After 3 or 4 days of instruction give the 2nd CFA and resort students for additional instruction. A third CFA is provided so that you can have ending data for the intensive instruction cycle.
It was purposely designed to present the problems horizontally to force them to then rewrite the problems vertically. Learning how to line up the decimals is a critical skill. I hope this product helps your students master the skill of subtracting decimals.
