This is a fun and interactive way to help students master their subtraction skills!
Included are activities for subtraction with the following numbers: 5,6,7, and 8.
Students color and cut out the animal and then fold part of the animal or the animal itself down as they subtract.
EX: On the frogs paper (subtraction from 5), students look at each problem and bend that number of frogs down. 5-2, students would bend down 2 frogs and count how many were left on the log. The same idea is applied to the snails on the rock page as well (subtraction from 7).
EX: On the caterpillar page (subtraction from 6), students look at each problem and bend that number of legs down. 6-4, students would bend down 4 of the legs and count how many were left. The same idea is applied to the octopus page (subtraction from 8).
I have included my examples and some examples from my kiddos!
