Help your students master basic subtraction facts with this very easy system. Your students will receive flash cards for all of the subtraction facts from 0 to 20. There is a tracking page on which students, along with the guidance of an adult (parent volunteer or TA), record the facts they have mastered during practice sessions with the adult.
Once the students have mastered using the flash cards, they will take a one-minute, timed test. There are 20 problems on each page. The facts the student masters will be highlighted on their tracking page. The un-highlighted facts will be the focus during RTI time, homework, and partner activities.
Set up the process so that the volunteer or TA can manage it independently. Focus on those students who lack mastery in basic facts, so that they can achieve success in smaller, but equally important steps. House the students flash cards and tracking page in a pocket folder that features a student-decorated cover. Everything is in one place!
